Finding the right doctor
-
Hello, this is Eric Topol from Ground Truths, and I'm delighted to welcome Owen Tripp, who is a CEO of Included Health. And Owen, I'd like to start off if you would, with the story from 2016, because really what I'm interested in is patients and how to get the right doctor. So can you tell us about when you lost your hearing in your right ear back, what, nine years ago or so?

Wow. That was excellent! There’s no info given as to who might be able to benefit other than employees of big companies but it’s worth looking in to.
Because:
”Why did you become a trustee on the board? And he said, so I could get access to the right doctor.”
I don’t see that as being an option for me .
Does the service really work like he’s explaining? Maybe, worth a look. Perhaps Kluurs and Jon will weigh in. Is it something you start before you think you need it or is it more like a crisis management service?
Thanks!

I look around at their credentials, where they went to school and when, then all the sites like Healthgrades, etc. to see what patients say about them. I also look for publications. Having spent my whole career in healthcare, I have the advantage of being able to ask good and thorough questions and not be intimidated by physicians.
Speaking of which, I'm going to be a published author (one of several) shortly! It's a paper on a genetic cancer screening effort we've been piloting for a couple years. I haven't been published since the 90s.
