I should know this! And somewhere in the back of my mind I suspect I do, but I just cannot place it. He plays these opening chords... .anyone know what the piece is? All I can think of is a Ballade or Scherzo, neither of which is correct. It's not a Sonata that I know of.

Ugh! If only I had thumbed though my book! I'm working on the Polonaises Op. 26, Nos. 1 & 2 and Op. 40 No. 1 at the moment.

        Thank you!

        BTW, how did you "cheat"?

He posted the program for his upcoming concert in the description section of his YT entry. I did a search for videos for Chopin plus the name of one of the pieces for what seemed like the likely candidates.
Like I was pretty sure it wasn't a mazurka, so I skipped those. The Polonaise Fantasie was my third try.

I haven't used it, but there seems to be a Google thing that will help identify a piece of music:

I have yet to successfully find something using those music identifiers, but probably that's because I'm always looking for something too obscure.
