Road trip to Champaign -Urbana for the Binny's Memorial Day Sale. 11 cases of wine. God, I love that store. Twenty years now. Largest wine expenditure on wine in my life, and there have been some big ones.

Stopped on the way over in Janet's home town Crawfordsville, IN to tend to family graves. Stayed overnight in Champaign, had a wonderful champagne and lobster nachos dinner at Sun Singer wine store and restaurant. Now home, tired but happy.

On the way over we stopped at a Sunoco station in Crawfordsville that the Indianapolis Star said served up an outstanding breaded pork tenderloin, the signature dish of Indiana. It truly was great. Big as a hubcap. The sandwiches you see here are one tenderloin cut in half and it still hung way over the edges on two buns. Fried mushrooms were great as well. Tons of homemade pies and cheesecakes.

Dinner was lovely. Highly recommend Sun Singer.

Champaign is a very pretty town, at least the areas we saw. What I wish I could have captured was the vast fields with brilliant yellow-green corn shoots just poking through a couple inches. A gorgeous natural carpet on the land.

Will travel for discounted wine. 😍

I thought there was a disturbance in the force here. Must have been you crossing the border on the way in.

They had Janet's favorite chardonnay for half the price here in Ohio. It was worth the trip just for that. Saved $500.
