Feeding Pets Raw Food and Bird Flu
-
Yeah, my SIL does the same thing I never bought into it. Our cats get Blue Wilderness kibble in the morning and packets of soft food with gravy at dinner. Cat treats after playtime. They’re pretty happy and healthy.

Like most everything in life, there are upsides and downsides. A raw diet might be desirable in many respects, but it can mean that pathogens can get the better of the consumer of the food.
Forget the pets...I used to consume some raw foods. Never oysters (didn't like the taste), but definitely used to love steak tartare and sushi and sashimi. Now I don't trust the system that gets that food from the source to me to guarantee that it's safe to eat raw, so I've eliminated those kinds of items from my diet. There's plenty of good food out there that I feel more comfortable with.
