There's a promising a Democrat in Texas (Andy - B...something, maybe). Unfortunately, I agree with Kyle Kalenski's (sp? - don't feel like Googling speling now - sorry) analysis that when Democrats go into the who canned- quote "I don't hate billionaires" rhetoric, it's a sign they don't understand, or don't care about, or are beholden to oligarchy. BTW, I watch part of a documentary about RFK, Jr.'s 2nd (I think) wife. I couldn't watch it until the end but she seemed very smart, very capable, very honest, was earnest in a good way, gave birth to his children, and masterfully remodeled his house because it was about to be condemned. He cheated on her with her own dinner guests, gaslight her, in her words, and generally mentally tortured her. His professional life (lives) and personal life (lives) paint a picture of a twisted soul, imo.

I don’t watch a lot of stuff, but someone just recommended Soviet Jeans to me, and it sounds good. Eight episodes, you can get it through PBS Passport. Set in Soviet Latvia in 1979. Dictatorship, KGB, a love story, a counterfeit jeans caper. Here’s the trailer. Link to video

My dream house. Link to video https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgian_architecture Tower houses would be second. I can't have a house and garden. The complex I've posted about with towers has definitely become my first choice. I have to hire a real estate lawyer. No offense to lawyers but they are everywhere taking a piece of everything. Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water-- it's time to hire yet another lawyer. It's a good thing my sister-in-law is helping me handle everything in a strictly practical and conservative way.

I've made lots of NYTs and always read the comments beforehand. But I do that with all internet recipes. Making ricotta gnocchi with sage brown butter tonight. I hope they turn out as light as Barbara, a friend at the gym, claims.

@AndyD said: Wet room, so practical, where the whole bathroom floor is waterproofed for a shower A single story house about a block away from us was up for sale in the summer of 2024. The sellers had a child in a wheelchair and had created a wet room. We actually went to the open house and looked at the property but didn't actively pursue purchasing it. There was a bidding war, as seniors in our area are looking for a house just like it. Missed opportunity. Oh, well.

This was announced months ago. It's one of the unreal aspects of the US now.

The handwriting was on the wall when he let Musk stand behind the desk with his child running around with diarrhea of the mouth. Some predicted the office wouldn't recover. It didn't.

I thought about the protests against the Vietnam War in the 60s. I think they made a difference....

The Fergie character is the best! Lol. The problem with Charles is a) he lied during his marriage vows and b) his second marriage is illegitimate, and c) he has played out his short reign as a "Defender of the Faith" with with no credibility. The BBC did a poll of the 100 most admired Britains some time ago. The answers came back as 1) Elizabeth I, 2) Winston Churchill, 3) Diana Spencer, and so on. Charles will be a footnote in Diana Spencer's history. The dustbin of history is waiting for him. I know that this sounds harsh. I've developed a habit in my early old age of not pulling my punches. That was very funny, and the Sarah character was spot on. Edited for clarity, April 4
