Where to donate?

I think that supporting good journalism is important. ProPublica comes to mind. And some of the people on Medium and Substack. I think the folks at Tangle do some good work.
And probably not quite what you were talking about but....we're also supporting organizations that provide food to people, ranging from immediate needs during natural disasters (World Central Kitchen), to community based support like our own @BeeLady 's work at Mill City Grows. We believe that having access to food is one of the keys to both national and world stability.

@wtg good point about supporting journalism.
I agree with your comments about the importance of access to food (that's why I donate food through our local Krogers, but your post reminds me that I should give to our local food bank)
But I would like to support efforts that directly oppose or seek to block Trumps harmful endeavors.

SK, for direct opposition I would think the ACLU would be the go-to.
I believe a fundamental key to our present situation is the presence of lies in the media universe. Or, should I say, propaganda. Therefore Pro Publica was my #1 choice for donations this year. Also, keep subscribing to those publications that have excellent journalism. The best reporting I see overall is in the New Yorker.

I just watched a podcast with Jennifer Rubin and Norm Eisen at The Contrarian and it was really good for me. They mentioned the ACLU lawsuit, but also others that Norm himself is involved in. In short, resistance has started. I recommend subscribing to their new substack.
I don't now if you can watch this without a subscription, but it's worth a try: https://open.substack.com/pub/contrarian/p/jen-rubin-and-norm-eisen-on-executive?r=n5ktx&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web×tamp=72.3&showWelcomeOnShare=false

I thought maybe campaign donations to Dem AG candidates down the road might be another route to go. Like the ACLU, they can bring suit on a lot of these issues.

Another read on ways to cope/help
