The dissolution of ‘Tiger Moms’ and the new face of Asian American parenting

    https://www.nbcnews.com/news/asian-america/asian-american-parents-shft-tiger-parenting-gentler-approaches-how-rcna156639

Many Asian Americans know the reality of growing up with piano lessons on Saturday, language school on Sunday — and trying to push back on it all whenever possible in-between.
    ...
Chan is among a number of Generation X and older millennial Asian Americans who have been rejecting the stricter “tiger parenting” style for a looser approach — one with less emphasis on achievements and more focus on just allowing feelings to be felt and kids to be kids.
    ...

Seem to pretty much follow the trend that past the second generation the immigrants' descendants would just blend into the melting pot.

My dad’s side of the family is Italian-American (my dad was the first in his family to be born in the U.S.) and this fits our family.

One unique thing about Asian Americans are the weekend language schools. Italians never had weekend language schools, but my dad and his siblings all understood Italian, but none of my generation (me, my siblings, my cousins) do.

I wonder if attendance in weekend language schools for Asian languages is decreasing now, and which languages have better attendance.

Wondering what the long term negatives of Tiger Mothers are.
