Beekeepers. And appliance store.

I mentioned the Abt crew that delivered and installed our frig; we buy most of our appliances there because their service is unbeatable. They've been around since 1936, I think. We first shopped at their not-very-big storefront in the early 1980s when we bought this house. They built a new place around the corner from there and it seemed huge at the time. They grew so much they built an even bigger facility just down the same road. That's where they are now.
Turns out they are doing other stuff, too.
Beehives, solar, megabatteries, plastic foam recycling: Glenview’s Abt goes green
‘I wish every other business could see how we do things. They’d save money and be recycling.’

We popped over to Abt to drop off some things to be recycled, including a bunch of styrofoam we've had set aside for a while.
A few highlights from the store...
Just outside the entrance, a unique lighting display. Take a close look at the closeup of the "lights" in the second photo. Creative recycling...
They have a bunch of vintage appliances and historical vignettes set up around the store. This one was near the entrance. My mom had one of these up until sometime in the 1960s:
And now, the big question...should we buy a couple of cars, do a small addition to our house, OR...
Buy a new range?
The cost of the hood is more than I would spend to replace all the appliances in my kitchen...and now that I think of it, I could probably do it for the price of the rack....
And they do sell another one that comes in at over $200,000, if you don't want "cheap out".

Gift link! don't know if it will ask for you to sign up, or if you can just read...
I was able to read the gift link. Thanks!
That looks like a business I'd like to patronize if it was in my area. That styrofoam recycling operation is ingenious.
