The weather here in West Central Florida hasn't changed yet. The lows are comfortable but the highs are still 90 and above and it is still hurricane season.

But it will be much colder by the end of October/ start of November.

Winter will be too cold for me (down to the low 40's with a space heater in my room, the bathroom, and the living room) but I'm looking forward to it because I'll finally have the clothes and bedding I need.

I like living in warm climates but our summers can get uncomfortable due to high temperatures and no mountains to provide any shade.

The first day of Autumn here is more symbolic than it is something concrete but it makes me happy to know this summer weather will be gone soon.

    😊

The first day of autumn (and spring) brings crowds downtown with cameras to capture "Chicagohenge". Because of the alignment of the streets, twice a year, the sun rises and sets right in the middle of the long corridors created by the buildings... https://www.chicagotribune.com/2024/09/20/chicagohenge-is-back-what-is-it-and-how-can-you-see-it/

Thanks for sharing that. I had no idea. I've been to Chicago twice. It's an architectural paradise. It's easily the most beautiful city in the US and one of the most beautiful in the world.

One of my favorite times of year, despite the increased garden workload to rake up leaves from our two very large maple trees. The upside is that I have tons of compost makings that will get used in the garden!

We've been in a warm and dry spell for weeks, though we're finally getting some much needed rain today. Temps have been around 90 for a while, much warmer than usually. Thankfully the nighttime temps have been pretty comfortable, down to 50s on some nights.

We’re camping in the Hocking Hills area today, about 150 miles from the W. Virginia border and a bit south of Colombus. It’s some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen. The trees are just beginning to turn.

But dry, very dry. No rain for weeks and weeks. The grasslands are brown, the crops are brown. We aren’t allowed to have a fire for fear of setting the surrounding forest on fire.

90 degrees today but rain is forecast for tomorrow and Tuesday.

There are no visible signs of fall here. There's only the weather to go on. Hawaii was like that too.

Fall in the mid- Hudson Valley was beautiful. The temperature drop was dramatic because it's a true four seasons climate. The temperatures were my favorite of the year. Of course the leaves were beautiful.

Ooops...you have hurricanes and @Jodi has frost. Hard to keep track of what's going on where!
