Visit Norway makes shithouses ‘great again’ after Trump insult

Tourist board responds with toilet humour after US president’s ‘shithouse country’ jibe over failure to win Nobel peace prize

Some might find it decidedly incommodious to be dumped on by Donald Trump as a “shithouse country”. Not the Norwegian tourist board, which chose instead to lift the lid on some of the nation’s loveliest lavatories.

“Are these the world’s best shit houses?” asked Visit Norway on its website, days after the US president vented his fury once more over failing to win the Nobel peace prize by describing Norway as a “shithouse country” at a rally on Sunday.

“Norway makes shit houses great again!” the agency continued above pictures of some of the country’s most striking public conveniences, adding: “These toilets are worth a visit, both when you really have to go – and when you don’t.”

So how much money does it cost to buy citizenship in Norway?

        Is it even possible?

        Norway a "shit house" country?

        Norway.

        Really.

The ironic thing is, the first time he used the phrase ‘shithole countries’ to describe countries that net us a lot of immigration but with low SES people, he verbally contrasted them with Norwegians specifically. He said something like ’we don’t get people from Norway, we get people from shithole countries’

You have to have lived there for like 7 years and be able to speak the language with some proficiency.

I can't get past the ridiculousness. What a temper tantrum. Norway a "shit house" country? What will he say next? The earth is flat?

This reminds me- (not a reflection on the country if Norway)-

              "Norway's Crown Princess Epstein ties

Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway maintained contact and exchanged hundreds of emails with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein between 2011 and 2014, a relationship that became a major scandal for the Norwegian royal family.

              Key Details of the Ties

              • Timeline of Contact: The pair first met in 2011—three years after Epstein's 2008 conviction for child sexual abuse—and remained in touch through 2014.
              • The Epstein Files: Newly released U.S. Justice Department files contained over a thousand mentions of Mette-Marit, revealing extensive email correspondence, informal conversations, and a 2013 stay at Epstein's Palm Beach, Florida, mansion.
              • Public Apology & First Interview: After the files surfaced, Mette-Marit publicly apologized for showing poor judgment and failing to research Epstein's background thoroughly. In March 2026, alongside Crown Prince Haakon, she sat down for an interview with Norwegian broadcaster NRK, stating she was "manipulated and deceived" by Epstein, was not aware of his crimes at the time, and felt unsafe during her 2013 Palm Beach visit.
              • Legal Status: Crown Princess Mette-Marit has not been accused of any criminal wrongdoing.

She played the victim card. She was manipulated. She felt unsafe. She was not responsible for it. She did nothing wrong. Blah, blah.

The Crown Prince failed to take this woman's character and reputation into account before deciding to marry her and this is the disaster that resulted from his failure.
