An AI researcher who quit Anthropic sent a chill through the internet Tuesday with an apocalyptic prediction that the technology he helped build could “kill us all by the end of the decade.”

Just as alarming, two other researchers from the company went public with the same claims.

I was just reading about this. When the people on the inside are expressing these kinds of concerns it definitely gets my attention....

People can say anything. It doesn't make it true. Who is this guy? Who pays him? Where is his research? Where is his data? It doesn't add up.

But how is he an insider? He worked for a corporation. Now he doesn't. I'm not seeing any actual explanation of his claim.

@bernard I found an interview about AI.. The person being interviewed said AI is a scam.

I t was in my youTube feed.

I spent about five minutes on it before something distracted me and I had to leave it.

He started by proving the financials re: profit (and loss) don't add up with what the public is being told.

He said it is basically cloud storage.

I wish I had copied the link.

Intelligence can't be "artificial". That's the philosophical and real world problem I have with it.

@wtg Seems to be, "Our product will kill us all." Not the best sales pitch and unusual coming from the seller. I tend to believe things like that.
