It is a personality type. It is a personality disorder for all I know. I haven't figured them out.
There's a lot of them in my park. They come up and adamantly ask you if you if you live here. Just like that.
I say I've I owned my place for 8 years. Then I'm dismissive.
I think the next time I might say no, I'm here to sell drugs and watch them lose their tempers for my own amusement.
They're so absurd. We don't have a security guard here. I guess they weren't taught even a modicum of manners.

@mik It's a strange thing. There was one at the house across the street. She was blocking the driveway. She said, "Can I help you?!" I said, "Yes, you can get out of my way so I can pass." She jumped out of the way and I turned my back on her. I haven't and won't speak to her again. We stayed there for 3 months in 2018. She knew who I was on the day I moved in. These people are impossible.
