I strongly advise people to seek out independent investigative journalists and academics in any country who are experts in their fields.
Mainstream media in the U.S. (and in other countries) is now a result of corporate consolidation, is not objective or competent, practices censorship, and disseminates propaganda at the dictates of its owners.

Regime change fatigue. We changed the regime Iran already. It was our proxy state and this wasn't difficult. Now we want to change the regime in Iran again? It wouldn't be easy this time. The chances it would be a debacle like Iraq are approaching 100%. Some analysts have said Netanyahu doesn't want regime change, that he wants chaos. I don't know.

Not infallible but they double check stories/ai so are rarely first with news, and will correct themselves when needed. -
The Tehran Times is probably the least trustworthy, along with many internet photos and videos of dramatic bombings on middle Eastern countries and your airbase. Disinformation is rife.

President Donald Trump for the first time acknowledged a personal dimension to his decision to attack Iran, citing the country’s efforts to assassinate him in 2024 as a factor in ordering the joint U.S.-Israeli operation that killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
“I got him before he got me,” Trump said in an interview on Sunday night with ABC News. “I got him first.”
Trump had not previously addressed how the Iranian threats to his life colored his thinking on taking the United States to war in the Middle East. Those threats, on top of the assassination attempts in July and September 2024, dominated his and his advisers’ experience of the fall 2024 campaign, with repeated security scares and emergency measures such as changing planes and motorcade routes.
The Iranian desire to kill Trump dates back to the U.S. airstrike that killed General Qasem Soleimani in January 2020. Federal prosecutors have charged two cases of alleged Iranian murder-for-hire schemes. No evidence has connected Iran with the two assassination attempts against Trump in 2024.
Trump suggested he sees a connection, telling ABC, “They tried twice.”
The White House did not provide evidence to support a connection.
“There are a million reasons to eliminate terrorists like Ayatollah Khamenei," a senior administration said on the condition of anonymity. "His plots to assassinate President Trump are just one reason.” -

@andyd No. The Israeli state has been and is being 100% transparent about its-- "Greater Israel project," from Netanyahu himself (who won't close his mouth about it), to the political leadership, to the IDF, who wear-- "Greater Israel" patches on their uniforms.

I suppose if Iran starts taking out Trump branded buildings and golf courses, that might cause some panic in Washington and either escalate US involvement or get the toddler in chief to pull support. Though it is pretty well assumed that Israel has some significant "leverage" on many in the US chain of power.
