She may have some company sightseeing in Damascus...

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie said Sunday there could be "a deluge of Republicans" who vote in favor of forcing the Department of Justice to release all the Jeffrey Epstein files.

"There could be 100 or more. I'm hoping to get a veto-proof majority on this legislation when it comes up for a vote," Massie told ABC News' "This Week" co-anchor Jonathan Karl. Massie was one of four Republicans who defied President Donald Trump and joined Democrats in signing the discharge petition which forced the vote this week.

The vote comes after the House Oversight Committee released over 20,000 documents, including email and text messages from Epstein, many of which mention Trump. The president has responded by calling the files a "hoax" and he pressed Attorney General Pam Bondi to open an investigation into several prominent Democrats over their connections to Epstein.

"I have another concern about these investigations that he's announced. If they have ongoing investigations in certain areas, those documents can't be released. So this might be a big smokescreen, these investigations to open a bunch of them to--as a last ditch effort to prevent the release of the Epstein files," Massie said.

She's giving Trump a run for his money by lucidly, explicitly, and repeatedly eviscerating his, "America First," propaganda.

Is Trump telling the Reps to vote they way they were likely to vote anyway to appear to be in control or to feel as though he is in control?

              Some possibilities...

              1. He's looking for veto proof. He threatens senators to keep them from voting yes on it, at least to keep it short of a two-thirds majority.

              2. He told Bondi to start an investigation into any Democrats mentioned in the files. She'll say she can't release the files because there is an active investigation. Everything goes to court and languishes there.

              3. The DOJ falsifies or hides documents.

sidebar: The history on this is crazy.

The Biden DOJ never brought any indictments.

The GOP was all "release, release, release". Including Bondi back in February when the documents were on her desk being ready to be released.

FF to July, and Bondi says there's nothing to see, move on.

Now the congresscritters are pushing for it and Mr Donnie Innocence is digging his heels in. He tells her to investigate the Democrats mentioned and she appoints a prosecutor. Which is interesting, because in theory her DOJ would have already looked at this before she said in July that there was nothing to see. Why look again, except to placate Teh Donald?

WHAT THE HELL IS IN THOSE FILES ???

'We'll give them everything,' Trump says ahead of upcoming vote on Epstein files, adds that he doesn't want it to 'detract' from Republican successes
In the Oval Office, the president said today that he would sign a bill to release the complete tranche of Epstein files if it ends up on his desk.

“All I want is, I want for people to recognize a great job that I’ve done on pricing, on affordability, because we brought prices way down,” Trump said. “I just don’t want Epstein to detract from the great success of the Republican Party, including the fact that the Democrats are totally blamed for the shutdown.”

                He added:

We’ll give them everything. Sure. I would let them, let the Senate look at it, let anybody look at it, but don’t talk about it too much, because honestly, I don’t want to take it away from us. It’s really a Democrat problem. The Democrats were Epstein’s friends, all of them, and it’s a hoax.
