    Spineless Democrats have caved.

It's beyond infuriating, and to think that two of these Senators are from my state. Shaheen is a lost cause, she's not running again so she doesn't feel the need to do the right thing. Hassan is another matter and hopefully she'll be primaried in her next election.

The whole reason and point of the shutdown was because the Democrats were fighting for healthcare subsidies. We can just about kiss that goodbye now. Weeks of grueling shutdown ... only to lose what we were fighting for. Sabotaged by our own side. Brilliant.

These 8(?) Democrats have decided that a separate vote next month (if the republicans decide to even honor their promise) is good enough. Really? IF it even gets out of the Senate, it will be DOA in the House.

I'm furious. Will join whatever effort is made to unseat Hassan.

Sen. Kaine has lost me going forward. If I'm still voting in Virginia when he comes up for reelection I will vote against him in any primary and will leave my ballot blank in a general election. Yes, even if I detest the Republican.

I said as much in my email to his office.

@Piano-Dad And I let Hassan know in a 'strongly worded letter' I wrote her this evening. She's not up for re-election until '28. Hopefully we'll have good primary choices.

This is not at all a surprise.

The side that wanted a clean CR has literally always prevailed over the side that wanted to use the shutdown as leverage for their policy position.

In all previous shutdowns (at least in my lifetime) it has been the Dems pushing the CR. This is the first time it was reversed.

The difference here is that the side that held its caucus together (the GOP) was the side getting most of the blame for the shutdown.

                  True that.

I still think it could be a political win for the Dems, when the premiums rise. (Putting policy aside, obviously)
