    Trump Says He’s Cutting Off Trade Negotiations With Canada

    https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/23/us/politics/trump-trade-negotiation-canada.html

    ... because, according to Trump, "Canada has fraudulently used an advertisement" featuring former president Ronald Reagan speaking negatively about tariffs.

        This has hurt Florida's economy and for no good reason as if there could be one.

              The repukes in congress are responsible for all this. ALL OF IT. They've abdicated their responsibilities to the Constitution and the American people. One man, alone (orange face) can't do all this, it takes a tremendous group effort.

              The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

                @Bernard said in O Canada:

                The repukes in congress are responsible for all this.

                Congressional Republicans have also won the popular vote in 2024; so it is possibly arguable that they are doing the people's bidding.

                From that perspective, it looks a lot like Brexit and the UK's post-Brexit election. First many people looked at Brexit and thought it an aberration. Then another election came around and the pro-Brexit politicians won with even bigger margins! At that point you gotta admit that in some sense the people really, really want to go there. 🤷
