this guy lost credibility with me when he used the phrase,” hard-working French people”.

Ha! The French know their priorities. They have a good life/work balance.

        The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

my whole family lives in French these days except for me. Fortunately, they seem to be OK making these same sorts of jokes about themselves. Bunch of cheese-eating surrender monkeys…

Ryan has a follow up! 🙂 (I've followed him on Youtube for years, and knowing his personality lends an air to these videos that you might not get if you didn't know him. 99.9% of his content is not political, but about a house (which he bought for 10,000 Euros) that he is renovating.)

                We should learn.

Yea, that is going to happen.

"The man that hath no music in himself, nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, is fit for treasons, stratagems and spoils;” - Shakespeare

                  There we go!

"Francois Bayou loses confidence vote, will step down"

                  https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2025/sep/08/europe-live-macron-france-prime-minister-francois-bayrou-confidence-vote-latest-news

                  That's how it's done.

                  The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

Apple News drives me a little bonkers in their headlines for this news story. Any time this happens the headline is “French government collapses”. I live in a place where this exact same thing can and has happened and it is a FEATURE of our how government works. It’s actually a good thing that means folks have to cross the aisle to get things done. It’s not a “collapse” of government. Obviously the government in France is currently unstable - but the system is working as it was designed to work.
