Murkowski suggests she could become an Independent in the right circumstance

“There is some openness to exploring something different than the status quo,” she said in a podcast set to drop Tuesday.

I have been screaming at her to do so, along with that "oh, that's something to worry about" idiot in Maine.

The parties are becoming rather amorphous. That could end up being a good thing. I see it as a reluctance to adhere to orthodoxy of either side.

Relative to when? The parties are far more rigid and "orthodox" than they were when I was younger. You had to build coalitions across party lines to get anything done. Now it's rammed through on party line votes.
