I love Elizabethan music and this song breaks my heart every time I listen to it.

Many of you will know Emma Kirkby came out of the Oxford University cultural revival of ancient music performed on period instruments, with intensive source analysis, and authentic performance techniques.
Lutanist Anthony Rooley deserves a mention because he was her best accompanist.
She's said in countless interviews John Dowland is her favorite composer FWIW.
That's saying something when you consider her exquisite Mozart recordings.
The BBC voted her one of the best 10 sopranos of the 20th century.
It was a controversial choice but one they would have been remiss in not making IMO.
Enjoy!
