    Very nice!

Seems like a bargain price for a house like that. I wonder if thereโ€™s a reason.

Maybe the location? Or the layout? Certainly the ballroom might be perfect for a piano.

If you get the magazine 'Country Life' in the States, the latest has a property section of places for sale in Cornwall/Devon/ Somerset/Dorset.

Simply spectacular homes, ignore the cost ๐Ÿคช.

This one caught my eye, the house, the location, land and views:

And it's on the market with its 'gatehouse':

@steve-miller It's the market for luxury properties there. It's not doing well. Incredible bargains.

        @andyd I'll have #1. Spectacular.

This house is in New Orleans. I've visited it.

There was a traveling exhibition of Faberge objects there including several of the Czar's commissioned eggs.

It was the first and only time I've seen Faberge objects not counting the cane handles, etc. MS Rau sold on Royal St.

          Beautiful house without a doubt.

I really like this one! Seems like a good value at the price. Not much that youโ€™d have to un-do.

Since we moved out of London over four years ago, this octagonal Queen Anne house is one of only three houses I've seen on the market that I would go visit with a view to buying.
Not that we can afford it.

A sister of mine likes to sofa-househunt and regularly sends me such fabulous expensive property blurbs.

                  Where's Daniel?

Wow, what a beautiful house. And equally lovely grounds. They did a great job of figuring out how to furnish a round-ish house! Always a challenge.

                      Wonder if the roof leaks.

Looks like a traditional lead roof that will last for decades.
Be nice to sit up there.

A lead roof? Iโ€™ve never heard of one. Class A roof specs sometimes call for lead flashings but a whole roof? Wow.

                          Should last forever!

                                I'd change... nothing.
Piano might fit in the entrance area, or probably the Library.

It's three hours drive from Glasgow.

@AndyD Very beautiful house and location. Isn't all that far from Glasgow--as a crow flies, but 3 hours one way due to waterways.

                                  $10.5K/month for 30 years. Yikes.

                                  The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

@AndyD Nice! Reminded me of one of the projects that I saw on Grand Designs.

I also looked at this related listing:

                                        https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/91462938#/?channel=RES_BUY

Both this one and the one you listed seem to have graveyards associated with them. Not sure how I'd feel about that. Lots of deep emotional energy stored in cemetery space.

You'd need an architect to divide it up into rooms, keeping the original features.

As for the graveyard, you couldn't garden the area.
I always think it likely that at some time somebody is likely to have been buried on the land we own, certainly owners died in both our current and previous houses.
Doesn't bother me. There's nobody in a graveyard, only you and your memories.
