U.S. to Withdraw 5,000 Troops From Germany, Pentagon Says
Officials announced the decision after President Trump expressed annoyance with the German chancellor’s remarks about the Iran war.

That's about one-seventh of US troops stationed there. 🤷

I could be wrong but I think a lot of military assets are being diverted to the Iran debacle.

Dunno, my guess is it's more likely the five known Iranian deep bunker nuclear weapons sites are being assessed for missile strikes.
No way will the US invade Iran, you'd need 500000 troops, not 5000, and the sheer size of the country makes commando raids difficult.

Nothing about this war of aggression (and I'm speaking about the US involvement and the US involvement alone) was ever realistic.

@Daniel There is no war. Lunatic in chief sent a letter to Congress telling them hostilities are over and he no longer needs their approval. Iran has their uranium stockpiles, the Straight of Hormuz is closed, oil is still over $100/barrel.

@AndyD You are making sense. Not sure that is applicable, considering the US ruler.

@bernard Speaking about the global trade in oil, as I said in a different thread, our gas at the pump rose from $3.50 to iirc $4.75 in the last two weeks.

They'd better do away with pennies if I'm not going to be worried about pennies. Jeez.
