SpaceX = common carrier ...
-
SpaceX has been classified as a "common carrier by air." Space travel for the masses, here we come!
I suppose most people think of SpaceX as a technology/manufacturing company more than a service company. Using airline analogy, most people is more likely to compare SpaceX to Boeing rather than American Airlines. Still, it's undeniable that SpaceX operates a service, so I suppose it is justifiable that it be classified as a "common carrier." The laws as exist today don't quite cover a company like SpaceX that is akin to Boeing and American Airlines combined. The R&D employees is being asked to suck it up and be regulated like American Airlines employees rather than like Boeing employees.
