Beginning the harvest. First up - Rosemary.

I washed it and now it’s sitting in the sun so the water dries off. Once it’s dry I’ll put it in a ziplock bag and store it in the freezer.

Have you started harvesting anything yet? What while you do with it?

I have a TON of tarragon, and lots of flat-leaf parsley. And sage. Yes, rosemary too, not quite as much. But I already have dried surplus (of all except parsley) from previous years. Wish I could give some fresh herbs away.

It’s still growing season here, no urgency to harvest.

I have some thyme, which is useful all year. Will harvest later, as it’s still growing.

Tried chervil this year, very delicate anise flavor. I don’t really know how to use it. Also tried winter savory, which did poorly. Maybe I planted it in a bad spot.

Tomatoes are prolific and gorgeous this year. Going to have lots of big ones. Have had one caprese salad so far and will do another tomorrow.

Also parsley, dill, and cilantro for herbs; bok choy, various kinds of lettuces, romaine, red leaf, butter, arugula; made an omelette with kale and chard from the garden this morning; and made a tabbuleh salad with the fresh chocolate mint. Also the nasturtiums are prolific this year and the flowers are great in salad.

We've had apples from the garden and blackberries from around. Crumbles will be made.

Yesterday MrsD made apricot jam (from bought punnets double reduced in price)
