The spectacle's climax has been planned to be Army parachuters touching down to present Trump with a folded American flag.

            The funding ...

            https://nypost.com/2025/06/13/business/oracle-amazon-lockheed-martin-quietly-funding-trumps-military-parade/

            Companies named in that article:

Oracle, Lockheed Martin, Palantir, Coinbase and Amazon have recently donated to America250 ...

            Exigir

The nonprofit has listed several other sponsors on its website, including Coca-Cola; Phorm Energy, an energy drink from Anheuser-Busch; Scott’s Miracle Gro; and Stellantis auto brands Chrysler, Jeep, Ram and Dodge.

Some companies are distancing themselves a bit:

FedEx confirmed it is sponsoring America250’s other events. A source close to the matter told The Post this does not include Saturday’s parade.

Walmart donated a whopping $500,000 to America250, but clarified those funds are not backing the parade. ... “While we are not sponsors of the Army’s parade, we are providing water for attendees.”

... the Facebook owner [Meta] confirmed it cut ties with the nonprofit in 2022.

Planned to go to a morning protest due to the 108F predicted. My vision is remarkably better, but the eye still feels like a damaged soft boiled egg. Bob had to change his medication routine, which may cause a few rougher than usual days for him.

Some kind of march is planned on Staten Island for 1:00. Surprising because this is a Republican stronghold, yet we had hundreds at the last Hands Off event. We may go.

At a $45M (or more) price tag, I wonder how much that works out to per person...

edit: as far as accurate representation, it may have been earlier in the day before things got rolling...but I also read that people left pretty early and might not be sticking around for the fireworks.

Someone may or may not have reserved seats at the parade using Mitch McConnell's phone number.

I was sorry to miss the protest. Our last show of the American Repertory Theatre subscription coincided with the timing of our town's protest. I saw on Bluesky that the size of it was about the same as the last 4 I did attend. We saw folks with No Kings signs in the restaurant after the show. There was a massive crowd in Boston.

God help me. I saw a very short clip of a small black tank rolling down the road.

Even the Russians are trolling Trump over the parade.

I guess I'm not the only one who thought,

                                    1. These troops never learned how to drill, or

Was the music for Saturday’s military parade in Washington, D.C. covertly programmed by the “No Kings” movement?

That’s the question some were asking on social media after the event, spearheaded by President Donald J. Trump, which featured the repeated playing of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s classic “Fortunate Son” — a song that virtually the entire world knows by now was written during the Vietnam era as a slam against wealthy draft dodgers. The assumption being made by at least a few tweeters was that this had to be some kind of deliberate trolling of the president by someone on the music selection team who just has it in for him. Because if you were going to make a top 10 list of songs that Trump should not want to have played at any of his events — but most of all not at a military-themed ceremony — “Fortunate Son” would certainly be No. 1.
