A quick review of the Motorola Edge 2024
-
I bought this on Amazon new, unlocked for $299.
It's an upgraded version of my Edge 2022. I can't tell you the specifications related to how it's been upgraded. I'm not very interested in them and they weren't relevant to my decision to buy it.
I bought it because the lithium battery in my old phone was running out of power at a very impractical rate and the Edge 2024 was $299.
I have no complaints about the OLED display. I've seen better displays but it's fine.
Its keyboard is much more sensitive than my old phone's. I'm putting it in a case with a built-in screen protector. I'm hoping the display and screen protector will work fine together.
This is the first phone I've had that can be submerged in a certain depth of water for a certain amount of time. This is something I've been waiting for but I don't intend to test it.
The back is "vegan leather." I don't know what this means. It feels good but this will be irrelevant when I put it in a case.
I might have bought the Pixel 8a if I hadn't been in a rush to do something about my old phone's battery getting worse every day. I think it might have been worth an extra $100.
Android Police shilling (I guess it's not really shilling when they state they're getting kickbacks) got the best of me.
I'll sum up my review this way: Motorola Edge 2024-- what's not to like for $300?

A strange thing happened!
My carrier told me to put my SIM in my new unlocked phone.
I did and my service wasn't interrupted but now my phone is telling me I have a new carrier!
I contacted the new carrier today and gave them the details and answered their questions.
The human chat person basically said you don't have an account with us!
I haven't checked the original carrier's app yet.
I'd like to hear if this sounds familiar to anyone and ask for advice please.
The original carrier is pay as you go and set up for automatic payments.
WTF?
