Denmark's state-run postal service, PostNord, is to end all letter deliveries at the end of 2025, citing a 90% decline in letter volumes since the start of the century.
The decision brings to an end 400 years of the company's letter service. Denmark's 1,500 post boxes will start to disappear from the start of June.

Long story:
The gallery I belong to (we are a kind of cooperative, 9 members, we each pay a monthly fee to put towards rent, and we have to sit the gallery a few times a month) puts on a “square foot” show each year, and we all do something on the same sized wooden art panels, it’s a pretty cool show, it hangs nicely, and the works are all so different. Anyway - this was one of my pieces from last year, the show was after I got home form going through the rest of my mom’s stuff in their basement (she’s in memory care) - and I ended up with her stamp collection. I already have the stamp collections from Steve’s dad and his uncle. They are all a little overwhelming. It was right when my lower back was being so awful, and standing was more comfortable than sitting, so I spent hours in my studio standing and sorting and separating (in water) stamps from envelopes, by colors, by country - they are so beautiful and what I really want to do is some sort of mosaic of her with them, but thought maybe I should start with the square foot show. I picked Great Britain first, because my Dad was British, so she had a ton of stamps from all our relatives. This is a page from an empty albums “The Fully Illustrated Universal Stamp Album, published 1955) that I mod posted onto the wooden panel. then I modpodged the stamps onto the page, most of them on this piece are where they are supposed to go. The hand (mine) holding the stamp is on a separate piece of heavy paper, I drew the outline, cut it out and glued it in place, then did the drawing (graphite) after it was already in place. Did some shading on the album page, then I sprayed a UV clear coat over the whole thing. The second one is Japan (my mom’s husband is Japanese), and she probably has the next number of stamps from there. That’s painted directly on the page, and hardly any of those stamps are where they are supposed to be, but I wanted more color on that. Not sure what I’m going to do next. Should probably do the US. Not only did she save every single stamp she has ever received, she also had been purchasing stamps every year and not using them. I will never have to buy stamps again…Here’s he photo I drew from:

Thanks for the additional information about your process! I love mixed media work!
Mamie’s Wall Is absolutely wonderful!!!
Square foot shows are becoming quite popular! An artist friend of mine has done them annually for a few years as well. I know that, in his case, it started because larger pieces weren’t selling as easily so he was trying to make his work more approachable for folks who wanted original art but couldn’t afford thousands of dollars.
