CarPlay has been around a long time, car technology and in-cabin instrumentation have evolved a lot, so I can understand the need to update CarPlay.

I see a lot of potential for good with Apple’s major update to CarPlay, but also a lot of ropes for the designers to hang themselves and take the driver’s focus and driving experience with them. Not sure I want car manufacturer to delegate basic instrumentations to CarPlay. Fingers crossed for good, stable implementations.

I hate change. I’m fine with CarPlay the way it is. I don’t want it to integrate with my car functions/displays. More is not better.
