Emma Kirby with her best accompanist on lute singing her favorite composer John Dowland's-- "You Meaner Beauties of the Night."

I guess the theme is universality especially from listening to the last words of the song.

It's a peaceful, harmonious vision of the world.

The part I have never figured out though is who or what are, "the meaner beauties of the night?"

    What does this mean?

Attention pique', Mark, wtg, Big Al, et. al.

'But as they said in one of the later Rocky movies, "Time...it's undefeated.".-- Mik

Nice! There’s an explainer after the lyrics here:

That is lovely and a wonderful start to my day. Thanks!

Glad @Steve-Miller found the explainer...I'm a disaster when it comes to interpreting poetry....

            I have to correct myself.

This song's author and composer are--

            Author: Sir Henry Wotton
            Composer: Michael East

            Hyperion Records Limited, 1981

This album is something I've also listed to countless times. I don't know who might enjoy it.

            You might @wtg.

I listened to ancient music in my early '20's. I think I'll take a deep dive into it now.

I love it and it's very uplifting.

I've been promising myself for a long time I would settle down and listen to ancient music again.
