I'd like an update as well. If the posted videos link to one, I couldn't find it.
Given the large surface area of a roof, the potential uplift force is tremendous. I'm very curious if the straps did their intended job.

That's almost exactly how I wind-proofed a Costco carport for the winter when I was using it as a hay barn. I put T-posts in the ground to attach the vertical posts of the carport to, then trucker strapped the entire thing over the roof and hooked to cement stakes, just like this guy did. It's nearly ten years later and that carport is still standing. (I think the new owner has replaced the cover at least once.) The first one I put in without these wind precautions took off like a kite the first week it was up. (Costco replaced it). Got the idea from a Burner bulletin board.
