Got termites?

Interesting! In our old house, because we lived in the south, we had what they call a "termite bond," which means that a pest control company puts out (what they describe as) bait stations in the ground around the perimeter of the house. Then they guarantee your house against termites, and if there's an infestation, they take care of it. I realized reading the article that I have no idea what those bait stations are or what they do. I assume they lure the termites and then kill them?
Anyway, we don't have something like a termite bond at the new house and my real estate agent for example didn't seem all that familiar with the term. Termite inspection was part of our inspection though and I've been wondering whether we need to do some preventative thing...

@ShiroKuro That sounds like a valuable discovery.
When I lived in Brazil, I saw termite mounds in fields that were taller than a person. Here is an article about them [(link url)(https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2018/11/brazil-termite-murundus-mounds-space-4000-years-old/576160/)
