Medicare Part D for 2025
-
We just got a notice from Aetna regarding the 2025 premiums. Currently we're paying $9.90 a month and it's going up to $44.90. And the deductible is going up. But the out-of-pocket is capped at $2000 because of the Inflation Reduction Act.

We saw a huge bump a couple of years ago when we were with Humana, and we switched to Aetna at that time. It's hard for us to figure out which plan to sign up for because between the two of us, we only have one prescription med, and that's a cheapo blood pressure med, losartan. So comparing plans is a crap shoot and pretty much all we have to go on is premium cost.
The new rates aren't up on medicare.gov yet, but I'll be looking around for a cheaper plan.
edit: Mr wtg just looked in the Medicare and You 2025 book and the rates for plans in Illinois are there. We have some cheaper options that we need to look into.
Anybody else seeing a big jump?

medicare.gov has the new Part D premiums available.
Wellcare has a zero premium plan (Wellcare Value Script) available in Illinois. Zero or low premium plans are available from Wellcare in many states. Some discussion about it on Bogleheads:
