      Two generations earlier we had the great whiskey flood/fire of Dublin! Alcohol poisoning seemed to be a greater cause of death than fire or drowning in it ...

            Boston baked beans with Boston brown bread.

            Beans are scratch made; the bread came out of a can - as the good lord intended!

                The thing with brown bread is that it’s supposed to be steamed in the can. (Not baked) Like a steamed christmas pudding, or a steamed chocolate pudding.
