I’m a pediatrician in Texas. Things are dire and we need your support – not your condescension

"I expect no support from the Republican party, even as they proclaim to be the party of family values, but the mockery we receive from wealthy, influential progressives above the Mason-Dixon line is shameful."

This is entirely unnecessary and just as condescending, in reverse.

Who exactly is mocking her and people like her? No one I know, or have read. It's easy to throw out aggressive lines like that as verbal filler and self-back-patting. But that kind of rhetoric isn't a good motivator.

One can slam the state of Texas, and Texas politics, and at the same time support the struggling physicians and immigration activists who are working to shield the vulnerable and care for the poor and (in the case of vaccines) the misguided.
