Astronomical Twilight Nautical Twilight Civil TwilightTwilight is divided into three types based on the sun's depression angle below the horizon, measuring the transition between day and night.
Civil ((0–6 degrees) below) allows for outdoor activities without artificial light.
Nautical ((6–12 degrees) below) enables marine navigation by horizon and stars.
Astronomical ((12–18 degrees) below) provides enough darkness for observing faint stars.

Keep it up Democrats in Congress ...We have to rid ourselves of the pestilence that is running this country. The only option is to vote blue. The only option. I used to be one who though both parties were the same. Until 2016. When I voted for Hillary, which is something I never thought possible. Our current destroyer of our country made me do it and I would do it again to try to prevent someone like him getting elected anywhere in the government. The republican party has proven over the past 10 years to be incapable of doing anything correct for the people of this country. Not so the democrats. We wouldn't even have the ACA without the democratic party. And now we don't have it because of the republican party.
I know the democrats are not perfect. Nothing in this world is perfect. But at least they would not be doing 1/100th of the crap that the republicans have done to destroy this country.

Statins and sore musclesI have been on 20mg of Atorvastatin for a couple of years and do not suffer from this side effect. I did suffer when on 80mg dose of and different statin. I stopped taking it for year before starting in on the Atorvastatin.

New Year, new music? Ambitions?I'm taking lessons again! I found an excellent teacher less than a mile from my house. He even came to my house last Saturday and will again this Saturday due to me having a full knee replacement 2 weeks ago. I am just now maybe getting approval from my Dr to drive again. He loves my piano. His piano is a vintage 6' Baldwin and it's also very nice. We have the same piano technician. That is how I got his name. I just mentioned to my tech that I was thinking I wanted to take lessons again and he said, "I know the best teacher in the stateline area and he lives very close by."
We started with Chopin's Waltz Op64 No2. It was very challenging and continues to be although I had it memorized in about 6-8 weeks. Still polishing it of course. I hope to get a good recording of it soon.
I am now working on the Op9 No1 Nocturne. OMG is this a beast! Both of these pieces are very challenging to me. The satisfaction one gets when you can finally play a section that was driving you crazy for so long, is immeasurable.
@shirokuro I agree about Bach! I continue to play a couple of the Goldberg Variations daily. I have intentions of re-learning the 2nd Variation and beyond as well. I also use the Prelude in C from the WTC as a "simple" sight reading exercise. I intentionally do not memorize it just for that purpose. lol

Merry Christmas AllThe Leg of Lamb is in the Sous Vide, all seasoned and waiting for many hours later tonight when Daughter #3 and her partner will grace us with their presence.
Daughter #1 has been here since yesterday around noon. We commenced with our annual tradition of Xmas Eve shopping and had a wonderful time. Daughter #2 is in Philly this year having just moved there a couple of months ago now. Her fiancée (Yes! He popped the question about a month ago before he had to go to Oklahoma for advanced radar training for his new position as an Air Traffic Controller at the Philly airport. He has been gone for a month and only returned two days ago. He deserves to relax at home and not make a long trip this year as is their usual. So we will miss her this year but know that they are where they need to be be right now.
The big hit this year was a vintage Selmer Signet Alto Saxophone I bought for Daughter #1.
While flute was her primary instrument, she played alto sax in the jazz and pep bands. The sax we had at the time was a vintage Conn student model that my oldest sister had played in school in the 1970s. It is known as the family sax which has been passed down first to my daughters then to their young cousin who has it now.
Daughter #1 recently mentioned that she wanted to play the sax again so, of course I went shopping.
Our local instrument repair shop is right across the street from us and I paid a visit to them on Monday and they had this gorgeous Selmer Signet alto sax that has been completely restored with new pads, etc. it’s from the 1960s and was kept in stunning condition. Small signs of use wear in all the normal areas but the majority of the finish is just stellar with a nice aged patina but no finish checking that I can see.
She was so surprised! It brought tears to my eyes to see her reaction. A reaction that was so common on Christmas morning when they were young children. It was awesome to have that feeling once again.

I also got her a Lego F1 car modeled after the recent McLaren car. Again opened with the excitement of when she was little.
It is so nice to have at last one of my children here for Christmas morning.
Merry Christmas to all!

This month's piano recordingThe alcohol and micro fiber cloth worked great! I let it sit overnight and it is still good to go!
Smooth as the day I bought it. Even if i have to do this every year or two, it's worth the effort.
Thank you wtg!

@wtg nice, I'll have to try that! @Mark maybe even if it's temporary, this fix will let you use your Zoom?
I'm off to find the Alcohol!

This month's piano recordingExcellent SK!
I want to record again! My Zoom H6 is too "sticky" to handle. The compound they used for the exterior "rubber case" has the aged rubber sticky issue. It's pretty nasty too.
They offered to replace it or send me a slipcover. I never claimed it. I am going to make a point to do that.
