The guy that worked on my heating system lives in a 2 million + dollar home. He recently
sold his house on a Nebraska lake that a lot of people here love.
      He does good work.
He works alone or with an assistant.

Apparently I did it all wrong.

Although HVAC and plumbers tend to make a lot more than Sparkeys because they sell a lot more equipment.

        Its lucrative.

It's never been a secret plumbers make the most of all tradesman.

Yet it still depends on whether a person becomes a contractor and how successful they are at it.

          Also not news.

Reminds me of a cartoon I saw years ago, where a man is asking a plumber about the experience of his assistants and the plumber replies, "the doctor or the lawyer?"
