For whatever reason, iPhones do not do a resize of photos on the phone. Other phones do.
Andy’s procedure should work great for anything other than an iPhone

You can use the Shortcuts app to make a “Convert Image” option in the share sheet on your iOS device. I think if you use this link it will copy my shortcut into your app…
https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/85c62af7694a48e89a9d00f2062a45a3Once you have the shortcut, it appears in the sharing menu (the square with the arrow pointing up) for a photo. Scroll down and choose Convert Image. It will make a smaller sized copy of the photo, which should then be able to be uploaded here.

In order to save on storage that the forum uses, I don't upload directly here. I use postimages.org as a host just like I used to do on the old forum. I don't even have an account at postimages. I just upload my photo to their site, copy their link, and paste it here.

On your recommendation I used convert image for a long time and it worked great!
But it doesn’t work anymore and I can’t figure out why. Any ideas?

Which selection do you use to post a picture directly? I tried markdown and I got a link rather than a picture. Same thing with the link for forums.

I use the full edit screen here on WTF and click on the Picture icon (sixth icon from the right). It will automatically highlight where the paste will go.

@dolmansaxlil Oh wow, that’s great! I’ve been using Image Size, which is a pain in the patootie because you have to specify the size you want, and it remembers what you used before. So if you’re going from a vertical to horizontal format, you have to remember the numbers.

I’m glad it was working for you! Mine still works well - maybe delete the shortcut and try adding it again from my link above? Just going to post an image here as a double check that all is well…
