    The site was featured in the October Costco Connection.

    As expected, super simple recipes. Lots of possibilities for me...coconut curried lentils, Brunswick stew...

      Nice. Lots of good recipes. I'm making a big pot of Copeland's Red Beans and Rice for football day.

        @Mik Num.

        Had all the ingredients for Brunswick stew, so here goes...

        https://thefivedollarfoodie.com/recipes/viewbytitle/brunswick-stew

        Chicken thighs cooked and shredded.

        Veggies ready to simmer.

        Just threw everything together and it should be done in about half an hour. Smells great...

          We've got a keeper! Absolutely delish. Mr wtg loves lima beans, corn, and dark meat chicken, so he's on board, too...

          (Those are my home grown spuds in there. I had a few of the red potatoes left. They were very small but worked out perfectly in this dish.)

              You do know that a proper Brunswick stew must contain squirrel, right? 😎

                Bookmarked that site.

                Very clean recipes, mostly ingredients I keep on hand, and you can’t beat the value!

                That said however, I won’t be cooking for a while. Mrs. Miller got a new Veg-a-Matic kind of thing, pronounced it fun to use, and chopped up mountains of mirepoix/Holy Trinity. Then she decided to use at least some of it up before it spoils.

                This means we have a freezer full of great food. Cajun pasta, Cowboy soup (now with 50% more cowboy!), Black bean soup (remarkably satisfying and remarkably cheap!) and a Chicken corn chowder. We already had a bunch of Chili con carne y frijoles stored away as well.

                Should last us through winter!

                  .😰

                  Actually, I didn’t. But If they’re not careful, the ones that live in my trees may end up in the next batch I make. They’ve been ultra-destructive in the garden this year and I’m at wit’s end with them.

                    Never had squirrel but I’d give it a shot!
