for (yet another, sorry) tutorial in posting pictures here with my goal being to master this skill.

My posts are word rich and picture poor.

I must do something about it!

    Anyone?

I'll try, my way on my Samsung mobile:

      1 Take photo on phone
2 Edit it nicely on phone and importantly also resize to 80 or 60 percent using the three dot menu options lower right.
3 Here in the forum on the quick reply option, click the two diagonal arrow next to quick reply that gives you the full reply screen with all options at the top of your reply screen.
4 Scroll right on those options and choose the vertical portrait photo option 4th from end.
5 Then at the bottom of your page click on choose file.
6 Find and choose the photo you just edited, which will likely be first up on your screen.
7 Double click on the photofile and it ought to upload, taking you automatically back to your full reply screen to continue writing your message.

If it is red text uploading the photo is containing too much data you need to resize it.

The whole process is easy once learnt. 10 secs to take & edit photo, 5 to upload.

      Let me know...

Here is what @axtremus wrote in the Tips and Tricks thread about posting pics. Includes some info about storage considerations on the forum:

In order to save on storage that the forum uses, I don't upload directly here. I use postimages.org as a host just like I used to do on the old forum. I don't even have an account at postimages. I just upload my photo to their site, copy their link, and paste it here.

For whatever reason, iPhones do not do a resize of photos on the phone. Other phones do.

Andy’s procedure should work great for anything other than an iPhone

I know you don’t have an iPhone, Daniel, but just in case iPhone users do come to this thread for advice…

You can use the Shortcuts app to make a “Convert Image” option in the share sheet on your iOS device. I think if you use this link it will copy my shortcut into your app…
              https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/85c62af7694a48e89a9d00f2062a45a3

Once you have the shortcut, it appears in the sharing menu (the square with the arrow pointing up) for a photo. Scroll down and choose Convert Image. It will make a smaller sized copy of the photo, which should then be able to be uploaded here.
