The power and peril of social media

Doxxing.
Last week I posted an article (thread now lost) about how Musk is retweeting X posts with the names of federal employees, One example:
"I don’t think the US taxpayers should pay for the employment of a ’Director of Climate Diversification (she/her)’ at the US International Development Finance Corporation,” with a partial screengrab of an employee and her location.
It happened. I saw the actual retweet on Musk's account.

Once their names are available, they are being pummeled by the crazies on social media. These people are rightfully scared.
FF to this week...
After the DC plane crash of a couple of nights ago, the far right social media idiots went to work, following in the footsteps of their Fearless Leader. They started posting about a transgender Blackhawk pilot, claiming she was one of the people in the helicopter that hit the commercial plane. DEI, you know, unqualified...
Smerconish had an interview with her this morning. She wasn't in the helicopter, and she talks about what happened when her name started going viral in the idiotsphere.
