Kern County went solidly Republican this election.

      Leopards, faces, etc.

It's still Biden's watch. Why now?

Border Patrol runs solidly MAGA. Who’s going to tell them they shouldn’t?

Interesting fact on the nature of the border and the Border Patrol. The Patrol has jurisdiction within 100 miles of the border and Kern County is far north of that.

But it turns out the Border includes the California coastline, and given the shape of the state their jurisdiction includes pretty the whole state.

            Hadn't considered that.

So the CBP guys live in the community. Everyone knows there are undocumented farm workers. Local businesses benefit from those farm workers shopping at their stores and gas stations, etc. Not to mention the farm owners.

Wonder what happens when the CBP guys run into the gas station owner in a local bar some evening. They slap each other on the back because America is Great Again?

Agriculture comprises about 10 percent of Kern County’s gross domestic product and undocumented workers may comprise half of the workforce, he said. And the Central Valley provides about a quarter of the United States’ food.

“So, you WILL see, in the long run, food inflation and food shortages,” he wrote in a text message.

Wonder how the next administration will blame Biden for the price increases.
