She needs to get a proper job.

What, pray tell, is a "proper" job? One that you approve of? One that sucks the life out of a person? One that we must be slaves at?

She's racked up 222,000 subscribers by her own hard work. And if you think making consistently good (good enough to build and maintain a following), regular videos isn't hard, time consuming work, you're quite mistaken.

She has a degree in psychology, her previous employment (she left of her own desires) was as Medical Examiner's Officer in bereavement counseling. She also studied theatre. It sounds to me she is putting her talents to good use in producing videos on a topic that resonates with a lot of people.

If you watch a number of her videos, you will discover that she does not romanticize the past, far from it. She digs into the day-to-day life of the 1940s, life during war times.

You don't have to like the study of life in the 1940s, but that's no reason the dismiss the good, creative work she puts into her channel and bringing an interesting topic to many people. And supporting herself at it.

Yes. Yes it is.

But.
(Rambling ranting reply...)

She needs to get a proper job.
Something "less unique". Or should that be more unique?

Maybe realise she's hitting a mid-life change, needs to cut down on her screen time and take up some fulfilling hobbies.

I was thinking at one point in the video, when did all new pianos become naturally black unless you pay significantly more. Not that I yearn for 1960s yellow and blue bathroom suites, or 1970s avocado, or curtains in orange and brown, 1980's gold taps and turquoise patterned carpets. Please allow me to be rather selective in my takes from the past. Art deco yes, Louis quinze no.

I was also thinking where she fits on Maslow's

This romanticising of past things and lives is mostly folly, however fascinating and entertaining we may find our history.

While I'd like to live for a few years in New York between 1939 and 1942, I know my accommodation would be small and dirty, people would be rough and sexist and smelly.
They'd have running water and electricity by then, but for starters, how'd you wash and dry your clothes.

I wouldn't trade my life as a librarian for my grandfathers' lives as pit hewers. Or for their grandfathers' lives as farm labourers.

So yes. But.
Jane Austen observed over two hundred years ago,
"A large income is the best recipe for happiness"
