I’m glad for you, @CHAS and hope that your vision continues to improve.
My retina specialist told me that there was a 50 percent chance I could be blind in my left eye after cataract surgery. Then he paused and said, “that’s one in two.” Yeah, I can do the math. So I waited a few more years until my vision was so awful it was making my work life stupid. It’s turned out mostly great.

My vision in that eye is still bad, but improving. The colors are wild. A football field is a wild obnoxious yellow green. I suppose it will resolve.

The eye doctor told me I am starting to get cataracts, like almost everyone my age, but that I have a few years before I need the surgery.

My vision in that eye made big improvements the first two days after the surgery. I expect the improvements to slow. I do tell Bob he is looking better every day.
Missing physical activity. Was warned about bending and lifting.
Wonder whether a good sneeze would make the eye a projectile.

The ophthalmologist who did my mom's cataract surgery used to present an African violet in bloom to his patients when they came in the day after surgery to have their bandage removed. Mom couldn't believe how different colors looked!

About a month ago the doc that did the first surgery told me I have super thick tough cataracts. They cannot break them into pieces to take them out well. She sent me to a doc trained to take the entire cataract out at once.
Today I had surgery #1 for cataracts on my left eye. It went well, but the doc could not get a lens in it. He is sending me back to the doc who did surgery #3 for the right eye and put a lens in.
Expected to get a lens in today, but low expectations keep the world turning. -

Spent January to June of this year with no lens in my right eye. I can see things across the room if I resolve them with a magnifying glass. Before the current techniques were developed cataract surgery removed the entire lens in one piece like what I got today, then coke bottle like glasses were used. I drove and did some mountain biking with no lens in my right eye. The doc told me I could. I found driving with one lens was a stupid thing to do and quit.
I poked the right lens out of some Walgreen's reader glasses and read with my left eye and the remaining lens. -
I met an artist, Dorothea Tanning. She was a famous Surrealist. Cataracts drove her crazy because the colors were all wrong.
